SDCC 2019: Supernatural Panel Highlights

Supernatural brought the house down… with floods of tears during San Diego Comic-Con 2019 at their final season panel. Earlier this year, it was announced the hit CW show will be wrapping up its fifteenth and final season, debuting this Fall. Savor those last 20 episodes, SPN fans.

Their historic spot in Hall H on Sunday was moderated by Richard Speight Jr. and Rob Benedict who kept the conversation going with a packed panel which included stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, and much of the cast & crew who bring a beloved series to life.

Ackles and Padalecki addressed the elephant in the room head-on. “Can we all just start crying so I don’t feel weird?” jokes Padalecki. “It’s been quite a ride,” Ackles comments. “It’s hard to express what we’re gonna take away from that but lifelong friends, experiences of a lifetime.”

While we can go on about the emotions that were erupting throughout the room from the dedicated fanbase, we have to mention what was said about season 15. As you may have remembered, the season 14 cliffhanger left us with God/Chuck (played by Rob Benedict) reviving demons the brothers have worked so hard in destroying. Season 15 is the perfect opportunity to tackle this problem head on and probably for the entire season.

Near the end of the panel, no one was more shocked than one lucky fan who won an exact replica of the Winchesters’ Impala. YES! An actual car. Riding on that high, Padalecki closed out the whirlwind of a panel with, “I’m the luckiest man on the planet. My cup runneth over. Thank you guys very much. I’m going to miss you.”

We’ll miss you too.

The final season of Supernatural airs Thursday, October 10 on The CW. Will you be watching? Tweet us @CelebMix.
