Macklemore Announces New Album GEMINI

US rap star Macklemore has taken to Twitter to announce the release of GEMINI, his first solo album in 12 years. Available for pre-order now, the album will be gracing your ears on 22 September.

Over the past ten years, Macklemore’s album releases have all been collaborations with his long-term musical partner, Ryan Lewis. Album chart hits such as The Heist and This Unruly Mess I’ve Made were fruits of the hip hop duo’s collaboration and Macklemore hasn’t released a solo album since The Language of My World in 2005.

So, we’re pretty excited about this one.

Macklemore first started teasing fans on Twitter earlier this week, changing his account name to GEMINI and posting a video of star constellations. Zodiac vibes, anyone?

He then took to Twitter to give us a first glimpse of the album artwork, announcing the release date of 22 September.

Over the years, Macklemore has collaborated with the likes of Ryan Lewis, Ed Sheeran and recently Skylar Grey, and GEMINI is no exception. The tracklist names an impressive collection of featured artists, including Kesha who released her album Rainbow this month after overcoming a long legal battle against Dr Luke.
