ESPN analyst RGIII dives into Jags pool in full suit on MNF after ignoring co-host's warning

Robert Griffin III made a bit of a splash on this week's Monday Night Football.

During ESPN's broadcast of the Cincinnati Bengals vs Jacksonville Jaguars game, the former NFL quarterback-turned-analyst decided to dive into the pool which resides in EverBank Stadium.

The 33-year-old was finishing up the pre-game show when his co-host said it was "time to make a splash."

Griffin then proceeded to bellyflop - full suit and all - into one of the stadium's pools on live TV in front of dozens of Jags fans.

Before making the jump, RGIII shouted "DUVAL" - the Jags rallying cry fans often chant at games - to really set the tone.

"That was a nice suit too," one fans remarked on X, formerly Twitter.

"Hope he had a change of clothes," remarked another.

"Out 6-8 months (torn ACL)," joked a third.

"He still got that pure athleticism, bro!," a fourth said.

Griffin was in Jacksonville on what turned out to be a terrible night for the Jaguars. They were beaten 34-31 by the Bengals while losing quarterback Trevor Lawrence through a right ankle injury.

Lawrence had to be helped off the field in the fourth quarter after teammate Walker Little stepped on him.

The former first overall pick tried to get up, but dropped to the ground and threw off his helmet before limping down the tunnel for medical attention.

Many fans were puzzled as to why he was walking off the field rather than using the cart, but the 24-year-old insisted it was his call to do so.

"We talked about getting a cart, and I was going to get a cart," Lawrence said later on. "Then I’m standing there, and I’m already on the sideline at that point. The tunnel’s right there. I just wanted to get off the field and get out of there. I didn’t know what was going on with my ankle. I felt like I could get off. I was like, ‘Hey, you’re good. Just don’t bring it out. I’m going in.’"

The game eventually went to overtime which the Bengals won with a walkoff field goal from kicker Evan McPherson.

The Jaguars had managed to force OT when Brandon McManus kicked a 40-yard field goal with 26 seconds remaining to make it 31-31.

Bengals quarterback Jake Browning, making his second career start filling in for the injured Joe Burrow, completed 32 of 37 passes for 354 yards and a touchdown.

After the loss Jacksonville drop to 8-4 on the season, while the Bengals improve to 6-6.
