DISCOVER: Eurovision 2017 Estonian Act Laura Has Released New Single & Music Video "Tusulained"

We have a brand new single release from Laura, who represented Estonia alongside Koit Toome at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, titled “Tõusulained”. The song is more upbeat than the ballad Eurovision track “Verona”, which unfortunately didn’t make the Grand Final – but it’s still one of our favourite tracks to-date. This new song is just as addicting and we cannot stop listening to it.

Laura Põldvere is a well-known face amongst Eurovision fans, especially due to the fan-favourite track “Verona”, which had technical difficulties during the Semi-Final which leads many to believe as the reason for the failure to qualify for the Grand Final. She, duetting with Koit Toome, managed to get 85 points in the second semi-final leading to them placing 14th and not advancing. Laura also represented Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 as part of the girl group Suntribe, where they sang “Let’s Get Loud” coming 20th in the Semi-Final with 31 points. She’s attempted to represent Estonia at Eurovision a number of times in 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2016. Will she attempt enter again in the hope of actually making it to the Grand Final? Well, with this awesome song, it shows that she has the vocals and the ability to go all the way. She has released a total of two studio albums to-date and we can’t help but hope another is on its way.

Her new single, “Tõusulained” means “Rise” in English, which was written by Sven Lõhmus, and is definitely catchy, with Laura bringing some sass. As for the music video, it has been directed and filmed by ENTÜ tantsijad, who feature in the visual. The young dancers were given creative control allowing them to understand the music video industry.

The music video is engaging from start to finish, as the ENTÜ tantsijad put on quite the show, proving their dance ability and fully nailing the choreography throughout. Laura appears in almost all the scenes, giving sass and looking stunning, she even gets involved in some of the choreography and it’s clear she had a brilliant time. Smoking up the video is constant smoke bombs, flares, or grenades, which cover scenes beautifully, but at times can be a bit much. We also love that the lyrics appear at the bottom, thanks to Aleksander Einpalu.

As for the song itself, Laura impresses with incredible vocals that are clear and crisp. She really captivates every listener as she sings her song. How has she not made the Grand Final of Eurovision yet?

“Tõusulained” is available to download and stream right now through Moonwalk. We certainly can’t stop listening to it.
